How Long Does a Full Syringe of Lip Filler Last

If you’re looking to plump up your lips or restore them to their previous youthful volume, then dermal fillers may be the treatment for you.

As we age, the natural collagen and elastin in the skin begin to lessen, leading to our skin becoming dryer, thinner, and more susceptible to wrinkles as our skin begins to lose the ability to restore itself. Dermal filler can help with that restoration and help your skin to look naturally youthful.

Dermal fillers are a great treatment for anyone over 18 years of age who wants to add volume to their lips or achieve a fresh, youthful look, or to enhance certain areas of their face. Dermal fillers can add definition to your lips, correct facial asymmetry, and smooth your lips (which can make lipstick application much easier).

What are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are made from hyaluronic acid, which is found naturally throughout the body, attracting water and allowing the skin to become hydrated.

The injectable hyaluronic acid used in dermal fillers reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and plumps up areas of the face, such as the lips. The hyaluronic acid attaches itself to water molecules in the skin in the area it is injected, pumping up and smoothing the intended area.

How Long Does Filler Last?

A full syringe of lip filler costs $600.00 at the Crave Beauty Lab. While the results are well worth it for the confidence boost, they are also long-lasting.

A client who opts for one full syringe of filler can expect their results to last between 6 months to 1.5 years. Those who opt for half a syringe of filler can expect their results to last for a maximum of 6 months.

Of course, the length of time one treatment can last is dependent on the metabolism of each individual person. However, as subsequent maintenance procedures are performed the results will last for longer periods of time, as you are building on the previous foundation.

What Does the Treatment Involve?

A filler treatment is a quick, minimally-invasive treatment. The hyaluronic acid is injected into your skin with a tiny needle, meaning the amount of discomfort to the client is minimal. The procedure takes approximately 45 minutes.

The results of the filler treatment will be visible immediately, but the final results typically take about two weeks to appear as the hyaluronic acid fully settles and attaches to water molecules.

Those who receive filler treatments may experience slight bruising or swelling - but both of these side effects should heal relatively quickly. These side effects can actually be minimized if the client prepares for the treatment by avoiding products and foods that may thin their blood, such as green tea, Advil, alcohol, and caffeine, for at least 3 days prior to the appointment.

What Can I Expect?

Adding volume to any area of your face can be daunting - what if it ends up too big or not big enough? At Crave Beauty Lab, we aim to achieve a subtle result. This means that we achieve a result that looks natural and not obvious. Our technicians use hyaluronic-based injections, meaning the filler can be dissolved if the client isn’t satisfied with the result.
